Egor Grachyov, the leading character, works at the territorial subdivision of the catchpole department. He knows first-hand that law and justice do not always go together and sometimes helps the defendants navigate their way out of a tough situation by somewhat stretching the rules. Grachyov constantly has problems with the anti-corruption branch. While the defendants often compromise court officials trying to take shortcuts, in Grachyov’s case things are a bit more complicated: he has a personal feud with head of the branch Nesterov, since they are in love with the same woman.
